Your role will involve you building strong professional relationships across the UK directorates, to provide a proactive HR business partnering service. You will be an enabler and facilitator, helping to ensure that good performance management, best practice and employee engagement is at the centre of all that we do.

As we formulate a new business partnering model, you will use your expertise in coaching managers, imparting best practice, managing employee relations, enabling change and increasing employee engagement. You will use your know-how to support managers and staff alike to be at their best in order to deliver our ambitious WaterAid mission.

You will be a trusted advisor to managers at all levels, covering the fully employee life cycle.

You'll also:

  • Coach and advise managers to embed a high-performance culture, champion ongoing performance conversations and provide a perfect balance of support and challenge.
  • Provide advice and support on change management, including restructures, and will use your expertise to support managers to ensure changes are smoothly implemented and legal compliance and best practice are adhered to.
  • Work with the Recruitment Business Partner to help create a recruitment pipeline for future recruitment and workforce planning activity: collaborating closely to solve resourcing challenges that enable us to attract and retain the right talent.
  • Contribute to a business partnering approach to leadership and management development, working in collaboration with key stakeholders to help build upon our talent management plans.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives: such as staff surveys, enabling each business area you support to maximise their potential and action plan to enhance departmental results.

To be successful in this role you will need to be resourceful, pragmatic and have sound generalist HR experience.

You'll also need:

  • CIPD membership (at Associate or higher) or equivalent relevant experience: and be a confident HR generalist across the entire employee life cycle. You should be able to demonstrate a successful track record of advising and leading on complex people & ER matters.
  • Practical experience of supporting change (e.g. including restructures, job variations, job evaluations).
  • To be a confident influencer/coach, able to build strong client area relationships and have a good balance between support and challenge. You will have built credibility with business focused managers through providing pragmatic HR solutions. Able to use your planning skills to deliver projects and bring positive results.
  • Good emotional intelligence and able to navigate uncertainty and ambiguity.

Salary c£36,500- £43,000 (depending on experience) with excellent benefits

WaterAid is currently located at Durham Street, Vauxhall. However, we will be leaving our current location in the summer of 2020 (likely to be June/July 2020) and moving to 20 Canada Square, Canary Wharf. Therefore the London Office location and contract base, if you are successfully offered the role, will change. This will be discussed at the interview stage with you.
