This is a 12 months fixed term position, working part time, up to 4 days a week.

Job Description

As our Payroll Officer, you will become part of high-performing team to ensure the accurate and timely management of UK payroll, pension and benefits processes. Working across the UK People Team you will provide excellent support and advice to all employees on pay and benefits, and support in management information and reporting.

You'll also:

  • Prepare and process monthly in-house payroll for over 300 employees; ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, data protection regulations and organisational policies and procedures;
  • Undertake all payroll, benefits and pensions administration, calculations, amendments and deductions;
  • Act as a central point of contact for pay and benefits queries to all staff;
  • Manage submission into external salary benchmarking surveys;
  • Develop and prepare regular and ad-hoc reports on people data.

Person Specification

  • Experience of administering and running in-house payroll for 250 staff or more;
  • Working knowledge and experience of HR and payroll systems;
  • Excellent IT skills in MS office suite, in particular intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel;
  • Experience of working within a busy HR team, providing timely and customer focused service.

To be successful, you'll need:

  • An ability to work in a fast paced, matrix environment and keep calm under pressure;
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Analytical and methodical approach with an aptitude for systems and problem solving;
  • Sound and up to date knowledge of tax requirements and legislation affecting payroll, benefits and pensions.

Salary: £27,500- £30,000 (pro-rata for part time), depending on experience.
