Quality Programmes Team within Programme Support Unit (PSU) of the International Programmes Department, WaterAid UK provide thought leadership, specialist support, normative guidance, learning, knowledge management and planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting support across the organisation, particularly to our country programmes.

WaterAid is looking for a WASH / behaviour change professional to provide operational support to the ongoing work on hygiene behaviour change programmes. The post holder will have experience of working on hygiene behaviour change and research in developing countries, and understanding of the different behaviour change approaches and programmes in the sector. The role is an ideal opportunity for someone with existing knowledge and interest in hygiene behaviour change, and a willingness to support further learning, creativity and innovation in this arena.

In this role, you will:

* Support an active community of practice on hygiene behaviour change.

* Support in designing and managing formative research studies, tools and methods.

* Liaise with Country Programmes to help generate programmatic learnings on designing and implementing hygiene behaviour change programmes.

* Support in editing and synthesizing existing hygiene behaviour change resources.

* Assist in ongoing capacity building initiatives by coordinating logistics and activities related to hygiene behaviour change

* Work closely with Senior WASH Manager-Hygiene to support ongoing broader work on hygiene behaviour change

To be successful, you'll need:
* Master's degree in relevant discipline such as Public Health, Environmental Health, or social sciences
* Experience of working in the international development sector particularly in WASH, behaviour change programme and research including formative research
* Demonstrable experience of writing, editing and producing clear briefing notes
* Demonstrable understanding of WASH and health sector hygiene behaviour change issues
* Knowledge and experience of WASH project design and delivery
* Ability and willingness to work and travel overseas to support workshops and hygiene initiatives

Salary: £29,300 with excellent benefits.

WaterAid is currently located at Durham Street, Vauxhall. However, we will be leaving our current location in the summer of 2020. The new location is to be confirmed but will be within zone 1-2 in London. The recruiting line manager will discuss this with you at the interview stage.
